I am setting up my website for the first time and plan to sell art prints. I added code to disable right click, which tests okay on my laptop/Google Chrome and Safari; however, when I test it on my ipad or iphone it does not seem to work. Since this didnt seem to work, I also added the app called. RT: Disable Right Click, and I have the same issue. I really can’t launch until I get this figured out. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong or what would fix this?
It seems that you’re having trouble disabling right-click on your website, specifically on iPad and iPhone devices. While you’ve added code to disable right-click and even installed an app called RT: Disable Right Click, it’s still not working as expected.
Here are a few suggestions to help you troubleshoot the issue:
-
Double-check the code: Ensure that the code you added to disable right-click is correct and placed in the appropriate section of your website. Make sure there are no typos or syntax errors that could be causing the code to malfunction.
-
Compatibility with mobile devices: Some devices, like iPads and iPhones, may have different touch-based interactions that override the right-click functionality. It’s possible that the code or app you’re using may not be compatible with these devices. Consider testing alternative methods of protecting your content on mobile devices, such as watermarking or utilizing copyright notices.
-
Reach out to app support: If you’re using an app to disable right-click, contact the app’s support team or developer for assistance. They may have specific recommendations or updates that could resolve the issue.
-
Consider alternative solutions: Disabling right-click alone may not provide complete protection for your art prints. You could explore other measures like watermarking your images, implementing secure image viewers, or utilizing licensing and copyright protection.
It’s important to note that no method can completely prevent determined users from accessing or copying your images. However, implementing various deterrents can make it more difficult for unauthorized use and protect your artwork to some extent.
If the issue persists or you need further assistance, don’t hesitate to seek help from a web developer or Shopify support. They can provide more specific guidance based on your website’s setup and configuration.
