Does anyone have any experience turning off Shop Pay as a payment option? We find it causes endless issues with our customers, so we’ve made the decision to turn it off.
The problem is that we are a subscription business, and about 1/3 of our customers use Shop Pay to pay for their subscriptions. So when we deactivate it in settings, it’s likely to cause havoc which we want to minimise.
Does anyone have any experience migrating / discontinuing from Shop Pay? Only it seems like once a customer signs up to subscription using Shop Pay, they make it very hard for that customer to switch from Shop Pay to a different payment gateway (from what I can see there is no way at alll).

We’re aware how to deactivate Shop Pay as a payment option, however we’re more concerned about how we can migrate our subscription customers currently using Shop Pay, to a different payment gateway like Shopify Payments.
What did you end up finding out? I also have massive headaches with Shop Pay on our subscriptions. It’s a huge cause of churn because it its a massive issue to update payment types and most people just give up and we lose the subscription. I’ve complained endlessly and nobody seems to care.

I turned off shop pay because we have so much churn with shop pay making it so difficult for customers to seamlessly update their payment information updates. Now half of my subscriptions did not fire for the month and I have to fix it. This month it will be a bandaid, but did you figure out how to migrate subscriptions away from shop pay? thank you!
We’re continuing to have so many issues, I’ve reported it to Shopify many times. Unfortunately we’ve decided for now just to keep bearing it, as migrating from Shop Pay would mean having to ask a large percentage of our subscribers to all manually create new subscriptions.
