Display of Product Variants

Hello, wonderful developers!

I am very new to ecommerce, so I thank you for your amazing work helping me create a site that is functional and beautiful. I am having two issues in displaying product variants. The first is that the sample store has selectable dots on each product thumbnail, allowing visitors to see different color variants of a product without visiting the product page. This is what initially attracted me to the Horizon theme, but I’ve been unable to make this a reality for my own store. I tried every setting I could find, but the product thumbnail stayed the same.

My second question is this: is there a way to change the default product variant to be displayed in the product thumbnail, because as it is currently, all my thumbnails display only the first variant, which in my case is either black or white. I would like to add more color to my collections pages, so if this is already a feature I would love to know about it!

Hi there!

Sounds like you’re interested in setting up color swatches. These require some additional setup beyond the theme. There’s a great video tutorial on how to set these up in our Help Center.

It also sounds like you’re experiencing an issue where your product cards are displaying the first variant image instead of the main image. This was in fact a bug that was introduced in a previous version but has since then been fixed. I recommend you update your theme to the latest version to get the fix.
