Does Shopify offer product add-ons for specific items?

I have seen older unresolved questions for this topic, but I’d like to know if Shopify is finally offering add-ons for products. I have upcharges for specific products that should not be available in my main shop for purchase, and adding a million different listings for products with different variants is going to be more difficult for customers to navigate rather than just building the product they want from one listing.

In this instance, I am selling wreaths.
There are two listings for the two different shapes I currently offer, a crescent moon and a laying crescent. Each listing has three variants to charge appropriately for the size they’d like. after choosing the variant, the customer has an input box to inform me what color flowers they’d like me to use. Below that, I’d like an addon section with options for hanging stones, tiny mushroom adornments, bird nests, etc to charge for those items should they wish to add as many as theyd like. I cannot make listings for the entire array of possible combinations, that would be nearly impossible to navigate, and I do not want any mixups with people just randomly trying to order little birds nests by themselves.

I am halfway through migrating my entire store to Shopify and need these options to continue, how do I set this up?

Hello @norahsage ,

Thanks for the post! I have personally built stores that required product add-on customizations and I believe I can help put you at ease here.

This is definitely doable and quite easy to apply to your products. You’ll require a third-party Product Customizer app such as Hulk Product Options or Variant Option Product Options.

These apps will enable you to build product options in multiple ways.

You can add radio buttons:

Drop-down selections:

Even add color swatches for a polished look:

While it doesn’t sound like you require the function to charge for add-ons, this is also a feature of most of these apps.

Depending on your needs, there are apps that are free to use, and some that require a small fee. These will typically have a ton more functions and customization options.

I highly recommend downloading 3 or 4 different apps and using the trail period to find the right one for you. Let me know what you think of those options!

It sounds like you’re in your building phase, be sure to keep our Launch Checklist handy as you build so you can feel confident and ready to open up shop when the time comes.

If you are running into any pain points, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Best of luck.
