Hi I have build a store and i have used dawn theme for about 2 years now i want to change the theme to other themes. Currently when i open a product from a collection page its my produt page looks like mywebsite.com - This website is for sale! - mywebsite Resources and Information. I have tested new themes in preview and their product page URL from collection page looks like this mywebsite.com - This website is for sale! - mywebsite Resources and Information. also when i visit same product from other collection it looks like mywebsite.com - This website is for sale! - mywebsite Resources and Information.. my question is will chaning the theme affects SEO in the above scenario?
You need to check that the new theme specifies the proper “canonical URL”. You can view the product page source code for something like this:
The canonical url is the URL that google will use, and will ignore the others.
So basically, no worries as long as the new theme has the proper canonical URL code in place
