I purchased domain (mymaskus.com) from Shopify Domains section. Everything went smooth, the money was sent, it appears under billing, I got the confirmation email etc. But once I went to Shopify Domains section to make the new domain as my primary, it showed that there has been an unknown error and the new domain isn’t even showing up there.

This error can occur if a domain was previously owned by another store, and once the domain was purchased by you it has most likely reactivated and attached itself onto the previous store. In most cases, the store that the domain will attach itself to won’t be active, though the system will still prevent the new owner of the domain to add it onto their store.
To resolve this, our team can locate the domain from our end and help to disconnect it from the old store. We will need to firstly verify that you’re the new owner of the domain. If you’ve purchased your domain from Shopify, our team will need to access your account to ensure that the domain has successfully been purchased on your store. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you. Once you’re able to successfully connect your domain, it’s also a good idea to set up a custom domain email address. This will allow your business to appear more professional, which will then strengthen trust with prospective customers. While Shopify doesn’t currently offer email hosting natively on our platform, if you’re just starting out, a popular choice to help with setting up your custom email address is Zoho Mail. Otherwise, Google Workspace is also a commonly used provider for hosting your custom email.
