I have a subscription on a variant.
Using a Draft Order I can select the product. I can also select the variant. When I do that, I do not see any of the subscription details. So this is a problem for me.
The variant has a price of $3000. The subscription on that product variant is actually set as a pre-paid, one time purchase of $7000 with a monthly payment of $500 for 3 years.
So what I see in the Draft Order is simply a variant that costs $3000. End of story. But that is not right.
Is that it? Is that the show? We cannot use Draft Orders to build customer orders involving subscriptions?
Unfortunately no, we don’t support subscriptions with draft orders yet.
Is there a roadmap for this then. Seems like a fairly critical piece of the puzzle to make available to merchants? I mean, not that it seems critical. It is!
I am stunned that it is not even a thing. OK. Moving on then. Wow. OK. I will monitor this posting for hopeful updates about when Shopify might be finishing up this aspect of work on subscriptions.

Hi @HunkyBill - it was on the roadmap, then it was removed.
I also think Draft Orders is critical to subscription functionality. I mentioned this at the end of this thread as well: Please prevent subscription-only products from being added to draft orders - Shopify Community

I am not following too closely, but the gist is this. Please Shopify - do allow subscription products/variants on Draft Orders, because it is necessary for merchants to be able to handle their customers this way.
Removing this because it breaks some other half-assed patterns of use is an excuse? I think not. I am curious and for sure interested in seeing this come to life from Shopify. In the meantime, yes, I can present the merchant with the ability to create a subscription contract for a customer using the API, but that should not be necessary with a better Draft Orders flow.
I get it that someone was butthurt their discounting App had problems, but honestly, denying an entire class of one type of process at the expense of another, seems so overly dramatic and just lazy.
I am doubting it was removed from the roadmap so much as there is a lot that clearly needs to be done before native subscriptions are smooth as butter in Shopify.
