We are looking for a way to add a product to our store that can be seen by anyone on the site, but can only be purchased by certain customers (eg if they’re one of our subscribers). I have been researching this but I can only find apps that make items only visable for certain customers and in the hope to grow our subscribers, we want this product to be seen by anyone on site but be locked unless you have a subscription with us.
Is there a way to do this or an app that can be recommended for this?
This is an interesting request and not something I’ve ever really encountered before. Usually, store owners restrict products entirely except for customers with accounts who have special access to those products.
Perhaps you might achieve what you want to achieve may through a combination of apps, like the Locksmith app combined with a subscription app of some kind.
I’d recommend checking in with Shopify Experts, who are a team of third-party developers who can make custom changes to your store on a contracted basis. They may be able to develop a custom solution for you or may have access to an already existing integration that I’m unaware of.
As with all Expert contracts, requirements and prices are agreed upon before any work commences, so you can always check in with a few different Experts to ensure you’re getting what you want for a competitive price.
