Faebook Pixel (pixel appears for everyone else but not for me)

Hi everyone, I recently just created my website and installed facebook sales channel which automatically linked to the facebooks ads manager, page, account and selected pixel. But when I test the pixel on facebook it just didnt show any activity. I downloaded facebook pixel helper chrome extension as well as clearing my cache, disabling all my other extensions and disabling my antivirus and firewalls but still cannot detect any pixel using the pixel helper extension. I tried using other PCs and also no pixel detected so I’m really not sure what the problem is at this point. Some people detect a pixel, some dont.

Please help if you have the solution, been really wrecking my head on this!

Hi @Halo123456 ,

what’s your site name? I can check it as well.
How about ad blockers? If you (or anyone else) use them, you might not recieve any activity from the pixel.

All my other extensions were disabled, and here is the website https://haloskinofficial.com/

Hi @Halo123456 ,

I’ve just checked the website and Pixel Helper Extension shows no pixel.

If you try to create a campaign (e.g. traffic objective) and go to the ad creation, can you see in the tracking section the pixel or not? Plus, if you go to the Events Manager and choose the pixel, go to the diagnostics section, are there any issues?

Hi @Niki_K ,

Yes I can create ads using the pixel actually. The diagnostics shows 4 errors and all are as follows: Server external ID not matching to pixel external ID,

You’re sending the external_ID parameter for your AddPaymentInfo event from your server, but you’re not sending the external_ID parameter for this event from your pixel. If you send external_ID for an event from your server, you must send it from your pixel as well in order for that event to be valid.

This may cause issues with the attribution and delivery optimisation of your ad campaigns.

Hi @Halo123456 ,

accordning to the error, it looks like there’s an issue Shopify ↔ Facebook integration.

  1. I would disconnect the pixel and connect again.

  2. If there’s still the error, go to the data sharing section in Shopify and (if using) change from maximum data sharing to enhanced sharing — this will disallow CAPI. Just test this — if you change for the enhanced sharing, can you see the errors? (Refresh BM, try pixel helper and test events (browser) once more).

Hi @Niki_K

I tried both the ways you mentioned whilst clearing my cache at the same time but still didnt work out. Shopify support stopped replying to me either for 2 days so far aswell. The diagnostics errors are gone but I know that it comes and goes, I tried testing events and still no activity is shown.

Hi @Halo123456 ,

thanks for your update.

So, if the diagnosis errors are gone after switching to enhanced sharing, it seems to that the problem is really between Facebook ↔ Shopify integration.
So, I think that you’ll need to wait for the Shopify support.

I think that more stores were struggling with the same issue and there was one thread about it. I think it was this one. Maybe you could also check? https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-apis-and-sdks/alert-server-external-id-not-matching-to-pixel-external-id-for/m-p/1211466

If you need any other assistance with the FB ads(I mean later when it will be fixed), let me know. I’ll be happy to help you.
