We are running a meal prep business that does weekly delivery. Our weekly order cutoff is Wednesday at 8PM. Subscriptions are great for customers who order the same thing every week, but some of our other customers have been making requests that we cannot fulfill.

Add the ability to change the day of the week that a subscription renews on. Currently, if a user set up their subscription on a Monday, they won’t be able to modify that week’s order on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Allow users to change the products in their subscription. Currently we have to do that for them on the admin side, and it isn’t a scalable solution.

Allow admins to create a new contract for a user.

If a business needs advanced subscription features that affect your revenue get a paid app or develop one that is fit to purpose.
Meanwhile for features in shopify developed app submit feature requests directly to shopify support

Rarely will you ever seen such an app introduce new advanced functionality for specific business needs.
Pretty much every “shopify developed apps” is only ever a baseline introductory offering, that do more to fulfill marketing bullet-points and widely applicable general behavior than they they do in trying to qualify as apps with first class feature sets.
Adjust expectations accordingly and invest in solutions today.
