FedEx Ship Manager system issue

Has anyone experienced an issue where, for example, an order with 20 items from Shopify only shows 10 items in FedEx Ship Manager when trying to ship it?

@jjn I have worked with lots of business owners using FedEx for shipping, but never faced this issue. Have you tried reaching out to the FedEx team regarding this?

Also, can you share the total weight of the entire order?

Hey @jjn. This kind of mismatch can occur, especially when syncing Shopify with FedEx Ship Manager through manual methods or older integrations.

A few things to review:

  • Are all 20 items being fulfilled from the same location? If not, partial fulfillments or multi-location setups in Shopify might prevent all items from being pulled into FedEx.
  • Are you using any third-party apps or middleware to sync orders? Some tools may filter or limit the data being passed through.

If you’re dealing with frequent multi-item shipments, you could consider using a post-purchase solution like ParcelPanel. While it doesn’t manage shipping directly, it helps improve tracking clarity for split shipments.

In the meantime:

  • Check your Shopify fulfillment settings.
  • Review how your FedEx integration pulls order data, whether it’s item-level or shipment-level.
  • Run a test with a similar order setup to see if the issue repeats.

Hey @jjn, I agree with @Channelwill, syncing could be a possible factor here.

If you’re regularly handling multi-item shipments and are looking for a streamlined, all-in-one solution, you might want to check out our PH Ship Rate and Track for FedEx
app. It’s a FedEx-certified tool that lets you manage everything, from printing labels to fulfilling orders and tracking shipments, all within your Shopify dashboard.

Thank you all for your valuable advice.

We had been using syncing to transfer data, but due to the frequency of this issue, we’re now planning to switch to a manual process for data transfer going forward.

Your insights have been very helpful in reaching this decision — much appreciated.
