Hi @Celebrityshop
To start, it is worth knowing that the average ecommerce conversion rate for Shopify stores is 1.4%. If you have below 0.5%, you likely have room to improve, and if you are above 3.3%, you have a very good ecommerce conversion rate—in the top 20% of all Shopify stores.
With this in mind, consider how many customer sessions you have been getting to your store in the past month. On average, 98.6% of those sessions won’t convert. If we think about it, we need to work on the assumption that almost nobody purchases from us the first time they come to our store.
The most important thing you can do, assuming your product offering is appealing, is initiate remarketing activities across email, sms and digital ads. In order to do this effectively you need to start gathering first-party data from as many people as possible who come to your store. You’ve spent time and money getting them there in the first place, now make sure you see returns from that effort.
If you’re not already doing this ensure that you are:
- capturing email and sms for newsletter & offer updates (e.g. Sign up for our newsletter and get 10% off your first purchase)
- you have activated abandon cart email sequences
- the Facebook, Google and TikTok pixels and Conversion APIs are installed so that you can build remarketing campaigns and prospecting campaigns based on audience lookalikes
Most successful merchants are deploying all three of these strategies to drive conversions from people who are actively engaging with you store.
I hope that helps…
