How do I allow customers to add a gift note at checkout?

You can usually collect a gift note before checkout using either a cart note field or a dedicated gifting app.
A standard cart note works well when you only need one message for the entire order. However, a gifting app may be more suitable if you also need gift wrapping, sender and recipient details, multiple gift options, or product-specific settings.
The best placement is usually the product page, cart page, or cart drawer, depending on your theme and whether the note applies to one product or the whole order.
