Hi there! I was hoping someone could help me. We recently changed to Shopify with our websites, two of them being Allcam.nl and Allcam.be. They are both in Dutch language but target different countries (The Netherlands and Belgium respectively). The indexing for Allcam.be seems to go wrong on some levels.
First of all it seems like Google is deciding for a different canonical URL than the one given. For example for the homepage (www.allcam.be) Google decided that the ‘right’ canonical URL should be www.allcam.nl. There are correct hreflang tags in place (see print screens).
Second, Google is indexing many (hundreds) of pages that have a canonical URL. For example many collection pages with filters (e.g. https://allcam.be/collections/renault?filter.p.m.custom.wifi=1&filter.p.m.custom.wifi=0) are indexed, even though the given canonical URL is https://allcam.be/collections/renault.
Third, Google seems to totally disregard our sitemap. The sitemap is being read correctly but Google seems to decide for itself which pages to index. Obviously this is affecting our organic search positions a lot and I have no idea what to do about it. Anyone familiar with this problem? Any help would be highly appreciated.
