Google Sales Channel - marking 2nd hand products as USED

Hi All

I need to mark my products as USED on the Google Sales Channel feed.

I sell 2nd hand authentic football shirts.

Currently feeding as NEW to the Google Merchant Centre, so I am being chased for GTINs.

Cannot see where i can do this on my product set up?

Please can anyone advise?

Thanks

Chris

Hey Chris,

There are potentially two things you need to update.

  1. For the Google Sale Channel, select Manage Products. This should pop open a bulk editor for your products. Look for the Condition column and set the products to be USED. By default, products are NEW unless marked otherwise.
  • In this same spot, you can mark the products as Custom Products or you can do this in Merchant Center directly.
  1. The structured data must also show the products as USED. Merchant Center will attempt to match what is visually on the page with the product feed and the structured data. All three of these must match.

There is no way in Shopify to set the products to be USED so that the structured data automatically matches but my app JSON-LD for SEO does have a setting for Product Condition.

This article explains how to configure the setting in the JSON-LD for SEO app if you are a customer.

You can also apply feed rules to modify the data: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/7450276?hl=en

Make sure to re-process the feed after you have made the changes.

You can also use supplement feeds to overwrite the data: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/7439058?hl=en

Lastly you can also manually edit one by one in Google Merchant Center > products > all products > hover over the product and click on the edit icon.

The best option is to make the edits in your data feed app.
