Granting read access to product database?

Hi,

I’d like to know if there’s a possibility for a merchant to a. give an API-key b. grant access some other way to their product database? We’d like to partner up with out platform (not built on Shopify or any other ecommerce platform) and get access to their product data.

If yes, how complicated is this for the merchant?

Couldn’t find info on this use case anywhere.
