Yes! Thank you so much for sharing. Their discounts are the same as Shopify so that’s why I didn’t really want to download a separate app to buy my shipping labels, but this is an amazing temporary solution while they sort this out. Thank you again so much for suggesting this.
I agree with you 100000000%. I’m too scared to check my abandoned carts lol but I’ve had zero sales today when weekends are usually poppin’ so yeah this is urgent and it sucks! I reallyyyyy hope they fix it soon. Also yes you’re right, usually the rate increases are just there the next day when you buy the labels. It shouldn’t have removed the option to use that particular service altogether. So strange.
It’s not even that they can’t choose the rates, it’s that you can’t fulfill them. I had purchases on Friday that I’m fulfilling today and I cannot buy Ground Advantage labels even though that’s what the customers paid for. Seems to be a bug or an update that nobody was informed about.
If you need a work-around, you can fulfill orders over on Pirate Ship. This way you’ll at least be able to ship out your orders for a reasonable cost.

I got an update and Shopify has acknowledged there is a problem with shipping from Hawaii. I know it’s not a lot but at least they are now aware of it.

We reached out to Shopify support, and they indicated that the issue is being escalated and is expected to be resolved within the next 2 to 3 hours.

Hopefully that’s an honest time frame. Having the same issue with every single order. Based out of Alaska, here.

Here’s the latest update from Shopify Support:
“Our developers have confirmed that a recent change to the USPS rate card has temporarily disabled USPS Ground Advantage label purchase and rates at checkout for domestic destinations outside the continental USA (Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, Guam, etc) The developers are aware and working on the issue. At the same time, we don’t currently have a timeline for a fix, but this is expected to get resolved as soon as possible. In the interim, you can purchase labels using other USPS services or other carriers like UPS.”
haha they’re like “please pay $29 for a UPS label in the meantime when you normally pay $4.”

I’m from Puerto Rico as well, and it seems like Shopify is still working on resolving the issue, but no changes so far. Four hours ago, they told me it would be fixed, but nothing yet.
This was the response I received from Shopify:
“To be transparent with you, Héctor, there isn’t a specific timeline as our developers are the ones working on it. We are aware of this and want it resolved as soon as possible. Of course, we all want the best for our merchants.”
I hope they understand how utterly unacceptable this is. This is killing our sales! My abandoned cart numbers are through the roof. We can ship with Pirate Ship or directly with USPS, but again, the real issue is that our customers are walking away from their orders when they see that shipping is so expensive!
