Hello! I ship strictly with USPS Ground advantage. Today I went to fulfill my orders like I normally do and the option to select ground advantage went away. It doesn’t even show up in the area where you would select the shipping. I’ve gone through all of my shipping settings and made sure that my dimensions for my packages are all correct and everything I ship is under an ounce or two since it’s swimwear and very tiny/lightweight items. Anyone else having a problem with this or know how to resolve? It just happened today. Might be a glitch.

We have the same problem and it seems USPS Ground Advantage is missing for order that going to HI or PR.
So weird! I currently have a support ticket with Shopify so I’ll post an update if there is one.
So far, I’ve tried Shopify’s shipping calculator and ground advantage shows up when I ship from California to New Jersey for example. Only contiguous USA domestic. I am based in Hawaii and my business has used GA for the last 5 years so I’m not sure why it stopped being available now. I really hope it’s not a permanent change.
I also tried to use Shopify calculated shipping instead of my flat rates. I only selected GA as the option to show for customers and it still doesn’t show up. Both on my end for fulfilling the order and on their end for shipping options because it’s coming from my Hawaii address.
I also tried to change my origin zip code and it didn’t show up because the customers address is also going to Oahu. I have orders to ship and this is pretty urgent. I’m not gonna use priority mail for all my orders so I hope this gets fixed quickly.
Did you contact anyone at Shopify who is helping you resolve? I’m sorry to hear you’re having the same issue It’s super annoying!

Same issue here. Ground Advantage is missing for HI and AK as well as AE for military bases.

Hello! I’ve been experiencing the same issue today. I usually ship with USPS Ground Advantage as well, but the option has disappeared from the selection area when fulfilling my orders. I contacted Shopify customer service, and they informed me that they’ve reached out to their Shipping Team for further investigation. However, since the team is only available from Monday to Friday, they won’t be able to look into it until the next business day. I’ll keep the conversation going via email and will update once I hear back from them via email.
Has anyone else had this issue before and found a solution? Appreciate any advice or tips!
Have you considered trying Pirate Ship as a temporary alternative? It could help keep your shipments moving while Shopify sorts this out.
I’m freaking out. We’re located in Hawaii, and it looks like they took away Ground Advantage. We could absolutely purchase our shipping labels from USPS or Pirate Ship, but the major issue is that our customers are not seeing an affordable shipping option when they check out. Our sales since yesterday afternoon have been horrible. This is thousands of dollars in sales because people are walking away because they don’t want to pay double for shipping.
Shopify help is useless. They say all of our shipping settings are correct so they can’t do anything. I sent a link to this thread and urged them that this was a very urgent issue. It doesn’t seem like that’s getting me anywhere at all, however.
As a stopgap fix for the expensive rates shown to customers, I just added a custom flat rate shipping rate for our domestic orders. If you do this, make sure to choose a rate which reflects the new Holiday shipping rates mentioned in this document:

(Since these new rates were supposed to start today, I’m assuming that’s why this “glitch” occurred today. Someone in the Shopify Shipping team messed up real bad.)
Just got an update from Shopify support said their dev team is investigating.
Shipping team doesn’t work on weekends I guess haha. That’s crazy. Anyways here’s a screenshot of my message with Jay from Shopify support. Been super helpful in helping me troubleshoot but I already tried everything they recommended.
Also thank you so much for including the shipping rate increase document from USPS. That could totally be related!!
I’ve got the same problem. I’m in Hawaii and have no ground advantage rates. Only priority rates. I tried changing rates, adding products, etc. Nothing… I’ve spoken to two reps and they havent been able to get an answer yet. It has escalated. I’m waiting to hear back. I had the ground rates yesterday until the afternoon and then it disappeared.
Mahalo for sharing!! We will get this fixed soon, I know it Thankfully most of Shopify support is on Ottowa time so at midnight for us tonight, hopefully they’re getting on it. I’ll probably just do priority mail labels for the couple orders I got this weekend.
I hope they understand that waiting a day to get back to us on this is unacceptable. Yes, there was a rate increase, as there always is around this time of year. However, USPS is still offering Ground Advantage for Alaska, Hawaii, and PR, so there’s no reason Shopify should have removed this option for the noncontiguous states and territories. This has to have been a mistake, a mistake that is costing their customers thousands in sales. (I’m sure your sales are down, and your abandoned carts are way up since yesterday afternoon.)
I’m not satisfied at all with their response to this issue.
