GST Not Getting Added After Shopify Stopped Sharing Order Details with Razorpay(payment partner)

i team,

I’m facing an issue where GST is no longer being added during checkout after Shopify stopped sharing customer and order details with Razorpay (our payment gateway). Previously, the GST used to be calculated and included automatically at checkout, but now it’s not reflecting in the final payment amount.

It seems that since Razorpay no longer receives line-item or tax details from Shopify, the GST breakup is missing, and invoices are not being generated correctly either.

Can someone please guide how to fix this issue or suggest a workaround?

  • Do we need to reconfigure taxes within Shopify?

  • Or is there any alternative integration/app that ensures Razorpay receives complete tax details again?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @nitorious

This issue happens because Shopify’s recent API changes restrict tax and line-item sharing with external gateways like Razorpay. To fix it, re-enable tax collection directly in Shopify under Settings → Taxes and ensure “Include tax in prices” is unchecked. Then use Razorpay’s Smart Collect or Webhook-based invoicing to pull GST data post-checkout.

well now its time to move to other platform to solve this problem

because im not a nerd
