Help with page issues / coding

Topic summary

A user accidentally broke their Shopify store’s page styling while experimenting with code, causing titles to become uncentered and body text to shrink. The issue affected regular pages but not collection pages, with differences visible in both desktop and mobile views.

Resolution for Title Centering:

  • Another user provided CSS code to be added to the theme.liquid file before the </head> tag
  • This successfully fixed the title alignment issue
  • The body text size problem remains unresolved

Additional Recommendations:

  • Use Shopify’s file rollback feature to undo changes in asset files rather than applying “band-aid” fixes
  • Always duplicate themes before making code modifications
  • Thoroughly review Shopify’s theme customization documentation
  • Consider professional theme repair services if needed

The discussion includes screenshots comparing affected pages to properly formatted collection pages, plus a view of the base.css file. The conversation remains open regarding the body text sizing issue.

I’m not sure what i’ve done (think i was playing around with coding a bit too much, but the title and the body text have gone all weird on my pages. The title has uncentered and the text has gone all small. The last image is compared to a collection page which is what it was like before it went all weird. The last two photos are comparisons on mobile (one page and one collection).

Could I get some advice on where i’ve gone wrong  (Last image is the base.css coding at the bottom)

Hey! @deadrosesuk ,

Go to your Shopify Admin Panel.

Navigate to Online Store → Themes.

Click on Edit Code (not Customize).

Open the theme.liquid file (found inside the Layout folder).

Scroll down and paste the code just before the tag:
