Hello, I am setting up a store with paypal as the payment method.
However, we’re running into a problem where we want to do our own fulfillment. Which means we want to ship the products on our own manually. This would mean we will calculate the shipping cost and etc manually.
I don’t know how to do this in the setting, and it says that customers cannot checkout if I don’t touch it
Set up a shipping rate in Settings → Shipping and delivery so checkout works, then mark orders as fulfilled manually.

Totally normal setup, lots of small shops ship everything themselves at first. Shopify just needs some kind of shipping rate in place, otherwise checkout won’t open. You don’t need a 3PL or carrier account to make it work.
Here’s the simple way to handle it:
Go to Settings → Shipping and delivery
Under your shipping profile, add a flat rate (like “Standard Shipping”)
Put whatever amount makes sense, you can adjust later
That’s it. Customers can now checkout normally
When you ship orders yourself, go into the order and mark as fulfilled + manually paste the tracking number if you have one
You’re basically just giving Shopify a placeholder rate so checkout works, but the actual packing and shipping is 100% manual on your end.
If you want customers to track their orders cleanly without emailing you, you can use ParcelPanel later, but for now, the main fix is just adding a basic rate so checkout unlocks.
