So, I’ve gotten a couple emails saying that as of September 30, my shop’s register (an Ipad Mini 2 with its OS maxed out at 12.5.6) won’t be eligible for POS upgrades. Okay, I get it - it’s hard to keep writing new code that’s still compatible with earlier systems and all, but that only makes me all the more anxious for Shopify to fix the rest of the bugs & annoyances in their new POS before locking me into this current one!
I’m happy to say that I’ve seen some progress from the devs over the last month (eg. my card reader is no longer unrecognizeable every day and the “00” key has been returned), but here are the last few things that have been causing me efficiency issues. I’ve even illustrated them to hopefully get quicker results!
- This is the big one. That orange bar at the top of the add custom sale screen? It’s 100% useless and must be removed!
- That 2-3 second delay I’ve been experiencing on the product search results screen is still there and still incredibly annoying. Is it just because I have over 5000 products in the system, or is there something else that can be fixed?
- Once you’ve added a custom product to the cart, is there a way to edit the name? I guess this is more a question than a gripe, but it is something that I’ve needed to do on a few occasions…
Support/devs: Please keep me updated on these fixes, as I need to have these addressed before September 30th! Or else I’m going to have to bill Shopify for a new Ipad in order to keep up with their updates…
Chris
