I need option to limit Cash on delivery to set of products/variants similar to custom shipping rates.
If there are multiple products in cart with COD and online payment. You could show both the payment or you can give a control in backend on what can be the default payment option.
This is very important for businesses in India, as we had to cancel alot of orders everyday. It is impacting Shipping time, high returns and increasing operations cost hugely.
Prioritize and bring these options asap.
It makes no sense for small businesses and startups to invest in shopify plus plan starting at $2000/mo just for small script work during checkout.

I know you want this option to be integrated directly with Shopify checkout, but for now, there is no such option to limit the COD payment method to only a set of products/variants.
But you can have this feature if you can use a separate order form for your Cash On Delivery customers, you can use our app EasySell - COD Form & Upsells to create an easy and simpler order form that will allow your customers to quickly order directly from the product or cart page (with many additional features like Upsells, Bundles, Sheet integration… ).
What interest you the most is our app already has the option to limit the form to certain products/ variants, just Install the app and go to Settings > Visibility > Apply to selected products only, then the form will not be displayed for non-eligible products.
