How can I activate Shop pay on development store?

So I’m building a theme that I want to publish on shopify store, and after I’m done and trying to comply with the shopify store theme requirements I see I lack some features such as Shop installments, however to work with this I need to have Shop pay payment method installed on my development store so I can see my changes taking effect and style it. but the main problem now that I’m stuck at for some day so far is how to activate shop pay on development store? my country is not supported by “shopify payments” but my theme should be working globally, any idea how to to enable shop pay on my development store?

Double check, do you match with the requirements for installation?

May be you need to create a new store (migrate your theme) to match requirements.

One of the steps in the link you provided (for both creating new theme and linking an existing theme) is:
Enable Shopify Payments

  1. In your store admin, click Settings → Payments → Activate Shopify Payments

  2. Follow the instructions and complete account setup.

    I have a problem in this step, Shopify payments doesn’t support my country so it doesn’t even appear in payment settings, I even tried to switch store location to another country and it appears but filling out the information doesn’t work because it asks for personal information that I don’t have in that country. So I thought since it’s a requirement that must be complied for all themes to be published in stores then maybe there’s a work around to make it work while development even only in case to test shop installments?

Change business address to the UK, just to have access to all Shopify features.

Then is it ok to fill the shopify payments completion form with fake data about my business? since I don’t have any business for real I’m just developing my theme to comply with the store

Another update, somehow switching address to UK works without completion, I can manage shop pay now and enable test payments. thank you.
But there’s another problem, shopify installments are only enabled for businesses in the US. not sure how to test it.
