How do I code in a image banner without having to write something in a box or have an ugly square box over the image? Something that fits in desktop and mobile as well.

I understand that you are using the Dawn theme and mentioning the image banner area. Are you referring to the boxed part in this screenshot and wanting to get rid of it to just display the image you have chosen?
