I’m using dawn theme 5.0. I tried your solution and its working fine until you try to use the search button, it seems like the background link is going on top of the search result dropdown so every time I click on the results I goes to the link of that i set on the slideshow. same with mobile if i open the hamburger menu.

sorry its hard to take a screenshot because my cursor is not showing. but for this photo my cursor is pointed on the result on the search but if you look on the bottom left. the link is different its showing the link of the carousel on the back

yes, please try this code
- Go to Online Store->Theme->Edit code
- Asset->/base.css ->paste below code at the bottom of the file.
details[open] .modal-overlay:after {z-index: 3;}
@KetanKumar did not work. the search result is still picking up the link of the background.

i have done i have updated this file code base.css, slideshow. liquid and slideshow-M.liquid
I used this code for Dawn 5.0 and it worked but when I click my drop down menu and click on a collection it goes over the slider and follows that link instead of going to the collection can you please help? Here is my link

Hi, did you get this sorted? I am having the same problem. The dropdown menu displays over the slideshow image but any clickable link over the the slideshow doesn’t work and when clicked just brings you to the slideshow link?

hi @HRNaoise and @dseig1713 i think i figured this one. the full-link used on the background link have a z-index of 222 so we just need to make sure that the header is above everything else.
go to base.css
look for:
/* section-header */
#shopify-section-header {
z-index: 3;
}
and change it to
/* section-header */
#shopify-section-header {
z-index: 999;
}
999 to make sure that what ever we do its the header section always go first.
