how can i add smart buttons for ( credit card ) paypal … i did not find page to add code (cart templet liquid )

and plz help me to do it new way in 2023 …thamks

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin panel and go to “Online Store” → “Themes” → “Actions” → “Edit Code”.

  2. Find the “cart.liquid” file in the “Templates” directory and click on it to open it.

  3. Scroll down to where you want to add the PayPal button and paste the following code snippet:

  1. Save the changes and preview your store to see the PayPal button.

  2. If you don’t see the button, make sure that you have enabled PayPal Smart Payment Buttons in your PayPal account and that you have connected your PayPal account to Shopify.

I have the same problem, I already integrated PayPal on my store and have PayPal Express Checkout enabled so customers can buy products but only with a PayPal account, but there is no option to pay as a guest/only with a credit card. According to everyone you should have PayPal smart buttons enabled but I still havent found a solution how to integrate those to Shopify. Can anyone help with this?

I also have the same question. I would like to have the Debit/Credit Card option visible with the PayPal option. I am concerned that I am losing potential sales because people think they need to have paypal to make a purchase.

Hi @whiteblacka

The simplest modern approach is to use Shopify’s Payment Button / Express Checkout integration as opposed to the manual Liquid editing. Settings → Payments → PayPal / Shop Pay → Enable accelerated checkout. For custom placement use the checkout & cart buttons block in Online Store 2.0 themes sections or the Shopify Payments “dynamic checkout button”. Do not edit cart.liquid directly—use blocks or app embeds.

This is my product page with PayPal enabled in my Shopify Settings

it shows more payment options, and brings customer to shopping cart, which looks like this and is still confusing, The customer thinks that they can only pay with methods shown.

It is here in the above screenshot that there should be a button for payment with “Debit or Credit Card”
