How can I add zip code validation to my cart page?

Hello! I would like to add a feature at the bottom of my cart page where customers enter their zip code for validation. We only ship with one company and they have restrictions based on zip codes. Since we have a standardized shipping rate, the apps offered to calculate shipping rates aren’t really useful to us. All of our products are made to order and vary in size and weight, so the only condition that affects shipping cost would be the clients’ zip code. We are based in Mexico and only ship nationally.

The purpose of the feature would be to validate the clients zip code against a list of zip codes which the shipping company can effectively deliver. If the zip code entered by the client matches with one on the list, a message is displayed saying “Zip Code is Correct”. If the zip codes don’t match, then a message is displayed saying “Contact us for further assistance on shipping options”.

For all the zip codes on the list, the shipping rate is the same. If the zip code is not on the list, we would have to manually check the price with other carriers for that specific order, so it is crucial that clients contact us before they place their order if the zip code is not on the list.

We are using Dawn Theme version 8.0.0

If you’re looking for a way to validate zip codes, then the easiest method to accomplish this is by using a third-party zip code validation app - this way, you don’t need to work with too much coding. The apps also provide a more useful user interface, which allows you to set up the range of your delivery zones. However, since most of these apps offer a selection of locations for the placement of the zip code validation, then we’d recommend trying a few of them out to see which one best suits your store.
