In my store I sell all my products in a single packet option, or a box of 6 option. So to explain the inventory, when someone buys a box of 6, my single packet inventory should decrease by 6 and the box inventory by 1.
I’m not sure how to set this up. I have the single packets and the box option set up as Product Variants. But at the moment they both have separate inventory. So when someone buys a box of 6 I have to manually reduce the individual inventory by 6. Is there a way to link these so it is automatic? I tried a bundle app, but I want the bundle to show as a variant, not as a discount if that makes sense.

You would need to bundle the 6 pack variation with the individual SKU.
For example:
Product Single - SKU A
Product 6 Pack - Bundle of SKU A x 6
By default Shopify doesn’t have this option so you need to use a bundling solution like our bundle app. Bundleup will let you connect up all your products to correct SKUs and it will then update their inventory based on the component stock level. So in above example the 6 pack stock would get calculated based on the individual stock levels. This means you wouldn’t need to keep track of the pack stock.
We also have the additional option of unbundling orders made for a bundled product into the component SKUs post purchase. This means that when the 6 pack sells it will get changed to 6 x the single SKU which will automatically reduce the stock of the single item variant.

With our app, there is a way to bundle all 6 separate SKUs to make them 1 product.
To achieve this, create a dummy bundle product first in Shopify. Using our app, convert this into a bundle. We have step-by-step instructions here: https://help.bundlekit.io/creating-your-first-bundle
Here’s a sample bundle product we have where have bundled the fruits into one single product:
The bundle inventory is automatically set based on the available inventories of the bundle item(s), including the inventories of the variants.
Proper quantity will also be taken out of the inventory of each bundle that is being purchased including decreasing the single packet inventory to 6 and the box inventory to 1.
