How can I automatically stop selling new products when out of stock?

I have a site with over 30k products on it and I keep adding products but the problem is when a product is loaded it always comes up (continue selling when out of stock) is this a default setting ? Can I go in and change this to stop selling when out of stock for all (new products entered. I can’t afford to have to keep going back through over 30k products to change inventory from continue selling when out out of stock! Do you know how long that takes? My store is new, 4 months old and made 7 sales and only 2 were not refunds because of continue selling when out of stock! Any advice on this would be truly appreciated!

Hello @specialoutdoor !

When creating your product, under inventory, ensure “Track Inventory” is ticked. This is generally ticked by default. Underneath that checkbox, you’ll see another option to “Continue selling when out of stock”. Simply deselect the option.

Bulk Updates for Existing Products

For existing products, you’re able to edit them in bulk, so you can make the change once for all existing products.

Go to Products > All Products

Select all products.

Click “Edit products”.

Untick the “Continue selling when out of stock”
