How can I boost mobile sales and optimize apps on my ecommerce store?

Hey,

I’d appreciate if you share your recommendations on how to optimize a Shopify store and increase mobile sales. The incoming traffic from mobile is too advantegous to miss.

  • Also, do too many apps slow down your store? How do I know which apps to keep and which ones to remove?
  • Is there a simple way to analyze mobile conversion optimization-wise lacking sides of a store?

Hi @Erica00 ,

As for whether or not too many apps slow down your site, it depends. Most apps don’t cause a significant slowdown, but the best way to be sure is to test all your apps. To find out which app slows down your site, disable one app at a time and see if the site speed changes.

Secondly, regarding analyzing the CRO performance of your website, there’s a simple and FREE service called CRO Checker. You can explore possible opportunities for optimization improvement by entering your domain. It gives you suggestions on how to fix the diagnosed issues.

Anyway, back to increasing mobile conversions. There are TONS of ways to optimize your store for mobile devices. I also researched that a lot, and here are my recommendations:

1. Maximize Your Mobile Page Speed

  • Use of AMP Pages
  • Avoid Redirects
  • Compress Images & Try Using a CDN tool
  • Enable Browser Caching

2. Design for Mobile Users, Improve UX

  • Make your website easy to navigate around
  • Only have one CTA (Call-to-Action) per page
  • Eliminate distractions
  • Optimize your content perfectly fit smaller screens
  • Mind the optimal amount of contrast

3. Simplify Mobile Checkout or Forms

  • Keep only necessary form fields.
  • Make it easy to enter credit card information
  • Offer multiple payment methods
  • Reduce the number of the checkout process
  • Allow guest checkout
  • Implement a progress bar

4. Use Mobile-Friendly Popups

  • Avoid full-screen campaigns or large popups that cover essential elements on-page on mobile devices.
  • Don’t show your campaigns the moment a visitor lands on the page. Instead, use triggers and targeting settings.
  • Don’t disturb users’ experience with too many popups. Use only one popup on a page.
  • Use a reliable popup app

5. Use Multi-Step Forms Instead of Long Forms

  • Remove unnecessary form fields.
  • Use prefill fields that fill in specific information such as email, location, or phone number.
  • Order multi-step forms from easiest to the hardest to fill

6. Place Trust Badges
People won’t purchase from an untrustworthy website no matter how much they want the item. Now that more than half of the internet traffic is shopping from a mobile device, you’ll need to gain their trust.

Let me know if you find these helpful. Good luck!
