Hello, I’m after some advice and feedback.
My store is exactly one year old! I would now like to focus on improving my conversion rates. For the month of September I had 5110 visitors to my site but the conversion rate was 1.27%. This feels very low to me.
I am going to change my postage costs next month but wondered if anyone else could offer me some feedback and guidance to help improve this further. This is my store: https://mothercuppatea.com/
Kindest regards
Candice
Hi @CandiceMason ,
These are few of my suggestions.
-
There is no call to action button on the first hero image.
-
Products should be the main focus of the home page. But your homepage doesnot have any CTA that links to a product on the first fold of the screen.
-
There is too much image on your site. Try maintining text to image ratio.
If you find this useful, do give this answer a like. If you want someone to redesign the site and add custom features, do remember me.
Regards,
Makka
Hi Candice, first of all let me start by saying that I love what you are doing with your products, and the empowering messaging behind them. Also congratulations on hitting 1 year! Upon first glance I noticed that you have quite a few slides on the header & also a video on the landing page. While it works fine for my network speed, you might want to check the average load time for your customers in general. Or check how long your visitors stay engaged on your page (if its super short maybe there’s a loading time issue).
As for conversion rate, one of the most powerful ways to increase CVR is through actual feedback from your paying customers. I would suggest that you install a post-purchase survey app if you haven’t already. You can ask where your paying customers are coming from (and adjust marketing spend/effort) or how they like the packaging (5 seconds test), and award them a coupon / point for participating in the survey. I would recommend Gojiberry Survey & Feedback, its free to use and very easy to setup (with templates).
I hope this helps and best of luck with your journey!
Hello CandiceMason,
Thanks for reaching out to the community!
I really liked how elegant your website is, and loved exploring it.
Here are some suggestions for you to further optimize your website, which can help you improve conversions on your website:
1. Optimize Page Speed: I checked the performance of the website on PageSpeed Insights and found that the page speed of the website is very low on both desktop and mobile devices (see below).
Slow page speed causes frustration among the users and compels them to leave the page, which increases the bounce rate of the website. So, here are some tips for you:
- Compress large images
- Reduce image carousels on the website
- Remove dead and duplicate JavaScript and CSS code from the website
- Eliminate render-blocking resources
- Implement AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) for mobile devices
- Minify JavaScript and CSS
- Ensure that image elements have explicit width and height
- You can also refer to PageSpeed Insights to identify further opportunities to enhance the speed of your website.
2. Add Alt Text for the Images: Some of the images and links as images do not have alt text, which is crucial, as it helps in optimizing the website for voice searches too.
3. Have Clear CTA: There is no clear call-to-action, which attracts the customers or motivates them to purchase the product. Some tips for the same:
- Implement offers that create a sense of urgency, like ‘discounts applicable for a limited time’
- Introduce your products as a perfect gift for a loved one - ‘you can add an option to add a gift box’
- Be creative and run a campaign, as with fall and winter around (in the Northern Hemisphere), it is a perfect time for you to upsell hot beverages like ‘Mother Cuppa’
- Encourage the users to make a purchase by giving them attractive discounts, like discounts on buying all three tea flavors (The 15% discount for first-time purchasers is really good!)
4. Reduce the Noise: There are so many images and less content. I would recommend you maintain a 60:40 text and image ratio on the website. It is very important that the people get adequate information about the products you’re selling and do not get overwhelmed with so much ongoing noise.
5. Utilize Social Media: Optimize your social media handles by regularly posting on the handles and increasing user engagement, which can adequately help you to attract the audience from social media channels too.
Hope it helps!
