Good morning, since I’m new, I would like to know how to cancel a subscription in the app, whether it is enough to uninstall it, or whether a procedure needs to be done.
Topic summary
- New merchant asks whether uninstalling an app is enough to cancel its subscription or if a separate cancellation procedure is needed.
- Support clarifies that uninstalling generally cancels the app’s subscription plan, but there can be exceptions—especially for some apps listed on the Shopify App Store and for third‑party apps developed outside Shopify.
- Recommended action: verify there are no pending charges by going to Settings > Billing and checking the Upcoming Bill section.
- A screenshot of the Billing page (Upcoming Bill area) is provided to illustrate where to confirm charges.
- Outcome: The asker acknowledges the guidance with thanks; no additional questions or disputes arise.
- Status: Effectively resolved with a precaution to confirm via the Upcoming Bill; no formal cancellation steps beyond uninstalling are specified unless billing indicates otherwise.
Hey @Luca93 .
Thanks for reaching out.
This is a great question! Typically, when you uninstall an application from your Shopify store - the subscription plan with the application should be canceled as well. However, since some of the applications listed on the Shopify App Store and third-party applications that have been developed outside of Shopify. It would be best to check your upcoming bill by navigating to Settings > Billing. Once you are viewing the Billing - you should see the Upcoming Bill section. I took a screenshot from my test store to show you the section I am referring to:
Let me know if you have any questions.
OK, thanks a lot.
