How can I change the color of the footer in Debut theme?

Good day.

I am using the debut theme and wish to have the bottom part (containing the copyright line and payment type icons) of the footer a different colour to the top part. See pic below:

Hello There,

  1. In your Shopify Admin go to online store > themes > actions > edit code
  2. Find Asset >theme.scss.css and paste this at the bottom of the file:
.site-footer {
background-color: #af8f52 !important;
}

Thanks for your quick response.

Your suggested method will change the colour of the entire footer which I can do in the theme editor anyway.

If you look at the picture in my original post, the footer has a horizontal line about 4/5 of the way down. I would like the colour below the line to be different to that above the line.

Below line: 1F3A70

Above line: AF8F52
