Welcome to the Shopify Community! You are very welcome here - that is awesome to hear you want to move over to Shopify.

Doing some research before making the move is a great idea, so well done for reaching out here to ask questions first!

It is quite common for other platforms to allow you to export various bits of data, so that you can import them on other platforms such as Shopify. Things such as orders, customer information & products are all very commonly exported & imported when making the move.

Just so you know, we have some really handy help documentation all about migrating to Shopify that you can check out here. Feel free to use it as a starting point and as an on-going reference to make sure that everything goes smoothly and you don’t forget any important details.

After signing up to your free 14-day trial on Shopify, there are a few different ways you can approach moving your data from your current platform to Shopify:

  • Manually copy and paste some of the content from your current site over to your new store. This can be time consuming and require a lot of manual work however.
  • Consider using a migration app from the Shopify App store to help make the process seamless.
  • Hire a Shopify Expert who can offer their professional expertise to help you transfer everything over and get up and running quickly on your new store.
  • Transfer data manually using CSV files - this is handy for things like products & customers.
  • An easier and cheaper way to approach this might be to use the free Shopify Store Importer App, which allows you to automate part of the CSV import process.
