How can I create a URL to add products directly to the cart?

I am working on making an image map of an image, I wanted to add links to add products to the cart just by clicking the position on the cart. So I have the image map done and what now.

I have researched it a little bit and it looks like you can do something like this:

https://www.sampeldomain.com/cart/35233:1

However this will take the user to the cart to checkout, is there a way to create the url to just add it to the cart?

If I understand this right, you can do it easily by doing this:

yourdomain.com/cart/add/productid

Example:

example.com/cart/add/13106781710
