How can I find a VAT Exempt app suitable for my EU store?

I need VAT Exempt app for my Shopify store. The store is located in Germany EU and we sell to other EU countries and outside of EU (VAT 0%).

I have ticked in Markets >> Preferences

“Include/exclude taxes based on customers country”

That solves VAT exempt for:

  • B2C in EU, but not B2B in EU (VAT 0%)

  • B2C & B2B outside of EU (VAT 0%)

We have used one B2B store app, but it doesn’t works with Shopify Markets.

Any recommendations for VAT checker for cart page - which exempt taxes (price decreases) when enter business ID?

We checked your needs and would like to suggest you try B2B/Wholesale Solution app with the VAT Exempt module.

This app helps you configure VAT by country, and setting for customers (All customers, Logged-in customers, Not-logged-in customers, and Customer tags).

  • When displayed outside the storefront:

Here, you enter the correct VAT, and the app will automatically validate the correct VAT and will add money to the total payment on the checkout page.

Having fooled around with Shopify for a day or two, I was also quite disappointed to learn that you need a fairly expensive third party app to solve a question which should be trivial. Obviously, the system is American - but still. It´s not rocket science to code a standard solution. Anyway, it´s a deal breaker for us!

Shopify is not really built for B2B . If you pay for Shopify + then you can get this as inbuilt feature , but it very expensive. And you are right about them being from the other side of the pond … Canadian they are..:slight_smile:
