How can I identify VIP customers in Shopify POS?

So in the website Shopify you can assign Tags to a customer. Member, VIP, etc.

Tags are not supported (as far as I can see) in Shopify POS. So if a VIP online shopper goes into the store, you can look them up, but there is no way to see if they are a VIP so you can apply their discount.

Am I missing something, or is this correct? Any workarounds, bulk edits, apps, etc that can make this work automatically?

Is there an update on this? @Shopify_77 it would be very helpful to be able to look up VIP customer easily in the pos app while they are shopping in store

I believe it’s very necessary!!

But I think it might be impossible because the Shopify POS app team’s response is just too slow.

Hi! Tags are actually supported in Shopify POS and by using Wallet Passes at the POS the whole process of data integration and customer identification becomes smooth and easy.
