How can I increase the conversion rate for my new online store?

I started my Shopify store a week ago and I have social media and also Google performance ads running, I know it’s a short amount of time but I would like to increase my conversion rate. So far with 1000 traffic I only have 5 sales and my cost per click is higher then my sale on google.

Basically, there are two ways to improve your conversion rate. One is from the web design side, the other one is from the marketing strategy side. I just went to your website, and it looks really awesome! You have covered all the navigators customers need, and overall it looks pretty clear.
I think you may improve through marketing automation. I am not sure which marketing app you are using currently. It seems like it’s not useful enough. For example, it should recognize when your customers abandon their carts, and send them coupons automatically (maybe some other action to retain your customers). That’s really important in marketing. Also, when your customers are on the check out page, maybe you can add some popups, such as buy 3 get 1 free, some set recommendations, etc.

  • Have a favicon for your store: This makes your store look unique and professional

  • Have a clear search bar

That being said, here are some suggestions for your store to attract more new users and boost the conversion rate:

1. Have a sticky header

This will help customers navigate from every part of the homepage to any page of your store more conveniently.

2. Move a section downward

Kindly move this section off the top as it makes the customers confused when they are not aware of what you are selling, not to mention the image slides are so small.

3. Change the hero banner at the top of the homepage

The banner is very significant in hero material. It is the first thing customers see when they visit your website. Let’s get consumers to know exactly what you’re having in 5 seconds first.

I must say this banner cannot display exactly what you’re selling, and it is outdated. This might result in a high bounce rate so please change it to a new one.

4. Place a CTA button on the hero banner

A primary call to action button is one of the important things for a home page of an online store.

With this button, you will redirect customers to the page you want them to take action mostly. It can redirect to a collection page, a product page, etc.

It’s such a loss when you missed a “Shop all” button on your banner. A CTA button here will urge visitors to make the purchase and it is a great way to optimize your home page.

But please rest assured that all CTA buttons should have the same styling to enhance the conversion rate.

5. Add more spacing

Please adjust a higher padding from the content to its section border, as well as among the content itself. In this way, your store outlook would be more professional.

Last but not least, here are some useful marketing tips for your reference:

  • Frequently update your social channels by making use of posts, reels, stories, etc
  • Optimize SEO as it allows your website to rank higher in search results pages, which allows more potential customers to see and click on your website.
