How can I integrate label printing with product creation on Shopify POS?

I own a brick and mortar vintage shop, and the problem we are currently facing is inventory management, and online selling. I would like to start using Shopify POS, and would like to implement barcodes. However, every item is unique, and tagging & pricing is already a time consuming activity.

I am looking for an answer to the following problem:

  1. I need to be able to input a price into a device like a label printer, and that printer should generate a new barcode and print it with the price.

  2. In an ideal world, that would also somehow create a new product on Shopify and assign it that barcode and price, and a stock value of 1.

Does anyone see any way that this could be done?

Hey, @Happysunday1 .

Thank you for reaching out and posting this question!

I understand that you’re looking for a way to generate a barcode and add a price to the labels, and to create a new product with a single unit of stock value for your vintage shop. While you can use something like Retail Barcode Labels to generate barcodes and assign them to the products, the prices and stock values can only be entered when adding and updating products. If you’re interested in using Retail Barcode Labels, then you can learn more about our app here: Retail Barcode Labels app.

That being said, if you’d like to create products and add a stock value of 1, then you can consider

importing products using CSV files. The CSV file can help with adding products in bulk as well as setting the prices and inventories. Once that’s done, simply use Retail Barcode Labels to design the labels and add the element for prices. Then, you can generate the barcodes and print them for your products.
