I thought it would be beneficial for others in the Shopify Forum Community to have some steps to resolve the same question in the future.
For reference, the solution to obtaining your merchant ID from Shopify is to contact our live support team. Opening a ticket with the team will allow them to communicate the ID to you directly and securely.
I’m guessing that perhaps the ID was needed for a payment processing situation. I’m glad you’re working on creating payment options for your customers. Don’t forget that if you’re in a supported country for Shopify Payments, you can use this processor to help you with saving on transaction fees and also allowing you to qualify for showcasing your store on the Shop App.
