Goal: Make the collection image itself clickable to open the collection, instead of requiring a separate link label beneath the image.
Context: Store uses Shopify’s Dawn theme and the Multicolumn section (a layout block showing image + text per column). Currently, only the text/link label under the image links to the collection; the merchant wants the image to be the primary click target.
Attempts: Tried adding an “image section,” but it appears incompatible with Dawn.
References: A preview site URL and password are provided. Two images are attached to illustrate the “incorrect” behavior (requires clicking the label) versus the “correct” desired behavior (click the image directly). Images are central to understanding the issue.
Status: No solution or code provided yet; the merchant is requesting guidance on how to make the image clickable within the Multicolumn section. Discussion remains open.
We would like to ensure that clicking from the collection image takes you directly to it instead of having to show the link label below as in the first “leggings” photo. We are using the multicolumn section.
We tried adding a section called “image section” but it’s probably not compatible for our theme(Dawn).
