How do I make a menu drop down not clickable/linkable. I simply want the menu to reveal the sub menus and not have the option of clicking the main menu item to take you elsewhere. I hope I am explaining to make it understandable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I understand that you’d like the menu item to be visible on your website, but you wouldn’t want the customer to be redirected to a different page if they clicked on the menu item.
Is that right? If so, I’ll show you the steps on how you can achieve this.
You’ll want to head over to your Shopify admin > Online Store > Navigation > Main menu and then click Edit next to the menu item.
In the Link section, you’ll want to type in a pound/ number sign where you’ll see the option to select this link here:
Be sure to save your changes, and you’ll be good to go!
Let me know if that’s what you were looking to accomplish. If I’ve misunderstood, I’m happy to get some further clarification.

Hi @Finley , is there a way to listen the click event of dropdown sub-menu using #… as the redirect link?
We have a code addEventListener for any click on page, but seems no click event triggered for submenu using #…
Is this still a viable solution? When I go into my Shopify navigation and attempt to do this, it says that the link needs to be a URL address. There is no way to just have ‘#’ in the link box.
This works great, but now when I click on that menu item nothing happens the drop down only appears when I click directly on the drop down arrow. Is there a way that the drop down appears when you click anywhere on the icon button?
I tried on my Dawn theme, and it worked. But the issue is that , you will have to click the sub-menu to open the drop down list, which I dont like very much.
Hi Tina, Can you explain how you got to select the # please? I can see it, but it doesn’t do anything once I click on it, and then tells me I need a url address…
This solution doesn’t work for me. It won’t let me click on the square with arrow next to # symbol. I’m using the Local theme. Does anyone have a solution to this?
