How can I offer discounted gift cards automatically?

Hi,

Is there a way to make discounted giftcards?

Example: $120 giftcard for $100.

I thought I had it right where I put $120 Giftcard and a cost of $100… but apparently that was just the title lol.

Adding a note saying the bonus giftcard will be emailed within 24 hours isn’t that bad, but it’d be nice to automate the feature.

Thanks for the post! Yes, discounts can be applied to certain Gift Card products. There are some specifications however. You can create a discount that decreases the cost of a gift card in the following ways:

  • By a specified percent, such as 20% of the gift card’s face value
  • By a specified amount such as $20 off the gift card’s face value

Also, as with discounts in general, the following restrictions still apply:

  • You can have only one active automatic discount at a time.
  • Automatic discounts take precedence over discount codes and can’t be used at the same time.
  • Customers can’t apply multiple discounts to a single order.
  • Discount codes are not available to customers who have an automatic discount applied to their checkout.

As far as a custom note, you can do this by navigating to Settings > Notifications > Gift card created. From there you can edit the HTML to include a custom message.
