How can I change my local currency to USD? I have made first sale. I’m using the Starter Plan. Please help me out
Hi, @davidnenger .
If a sale has been made on your store, then you’ll need to get in touch with our live support team so that we can help you make the change to your store’s currency.
Due to security reasons, we aren’t able to do this via the Community Forums at this stage, but you can reach out to our live support team via our Help Center here. Once logged in, select a topic that best fits your query or situation. From there, you’ll be taken to a page with a list of relevant support articles, and you can scroll to the bottom of that page to select your preferred contact method with our team. Our live support team will then be able to assist you further with this situation.
Out of curiosity, is there any particular reason you’re looking to switch your store’s currency?
To change your local currency to USD in Shopify, you’ll need to follow these steps:
- Log in to your Shopify admin panel.
- From the Shopify admin dashboard, click on “Settings” at the bottom left corner.
- In the Settings menu, select “Payments.”
- Under the “Payment providers” section, you’ll find the “Manage” button for your chosen payment provider (such as Shopify Payments or a third-party payment gateway). Click on the “Manage” button.
- In the payment provider settings, look for the section related to currency settings. It may vary depending on the payment provider you are using.
- Locate the option to select your currency and choose USD (United States Dollar) from the available options.
- Save your changes.
Once you have changed your currency to USD, your store’s prices will be displayed in US dollars. It’s important to note that changing your currency may have implications for taxes, shipping rates, and other settings related to your store’s operation. Review and adjust these settings accordingly to ensure a smooth customer experience.
If you encounter any issues or have further questions specific to your Shopify plan or payment provider, it’s recommended to contact Shopify’s customer support. They can provide specific guidance based on your account details and help you navigate the process.
Thanks for the reply, I tried contacting the support but there is no option
for live support. it keeps redirecting me to the help Center with a lot of
different topics. Can you please help me out
I see, thanks for letting me know. Just to make sure that we’re on the same page here, I’m just going to go through the instructions on how to contact our live support team again to make sure that nothing has been missed:
-
Navigate to our Help Center using this link.
-
Login to your store on the Help Center, and select the store that you’d like to contact us about.
-
You’ll then need to select a topic, as seen below.
-
From there, select the most relevant subtopic to your situation.
-
On the next page, you should be presented with a few support articles that relate to your situation. You’ll need to scroll down where you’ll then be able to select one of our contact methods.
If you’re still not seeing the ‘Get support’ option as seen above, I recommend following the suggestions below to further troubleshoot and so that we can rule out any potential browser caching issue:
- Try to access the Help Center via an incognito window
- Or, you can use your usual browser but to clear the browser’s cookies and cache before logging in to your store again on the Help Center
- You can also try another browser. For example, if you’re using Safari, you can try Chrome or Firefox instead to see if that’ll make any difference
- You can also try to use another device, such as your mobile or a tablet
Let me know how you get on with this.
Thanks, I got help by the Live team and it was successfully.
