How can I track which influencer's discount code drives more sales?

Hi,

I have the following problem with my client’s Shopify store. My client has several influencers (3) to promote Her business - at the same time.

Because in Shopify I cannot create 3 different discount codes:

  • code MIKE to get 10 percent off

  • code JOHN to get 10 percent off

  • code MICHAEL to get 10 percent off

I need to create one code, for example:

  • code THEDAY to get 10 percent off

When all these 3 influencers promote this code THEDAY - how can I be sure which influencers drive sales better MIKE, JOHN or MICHAEL?

Could I create for example dropdown menu to the Cart page which has 3 options MIKE, JOHN and MICHAEL Then the customer clicks the influencer who gave the code to him?

Do you know some other possibilities to execute this problem?

With ‘Automatic discounts’ it can’t make 2 discounts, but you can use ‘Discount codes’, it will work fine. And customers can enter the discount code on checkout page.

Or if you want to use ‘Automatic discounts’, then adding dropdown attributes to save ‘influencers’ is the best choice.

But, in Shopify you can’t create multiple discount codes - which works in the same time? My client has only one product in Her store and He has those influencers to promote that book. That would be simple if I could create 3 different discount codes for all these influencers (3).

I don’t need automatic discounts - only the discount codes, so I can see which influencers codes have performed better.

I reply to myself and @LitExtension .

It seems that I can create multiple discount codes. I tested to create 3 different discount codes on my test-store:

  1. Code “MIKE” to get 10% off
  2. Code “JOHN” to get 10% off
  3. Code “MICHAEL” to get 10% off

Created test orders and those work. So in Shopify you can’t create for example 1 discount code (“JOHN”) AND 1 automatic discount (Buy X get Y). But you can create multiple (how many?) discount codes for influencers to use.

Yes. This is absolutely correct. You cannot apply 2 discount codes for the same checkout.

Do you / anyone know how many discount codes I can create? If my client has for example 10 or even 15 influencers - Can I create the 15 different discount codes for every influencer.

I read Shopify’s manual and there was only a note, that 20 000 000 discount codes can be created?

Yes. It will be almost unlimited.
