We’ve recently launched a new article Shopify automation, and I’d love to get your feedback.

Nice, I’m a big fan of automation and enjoy seeing more info on the topic because automation saves time, especially for the good people running small businesses.

I’ve owned a store for 7 years + created a Shopify automation app to automate parts of my store (and then it got popular, so we keep adding more features based on requests from the community).

Here are a couple additions I can share from my experience:

  1. Automating fulfillment is key, I would include a section about that. I like Amazon FBA for auto fulfillment, also Ship Bob is another I’ve used personally but there are more. If you’re not familiar with Shopify fulfillment, here’s the method I use to automate fulfillment: https://speedboostr.com/automate-order-fulfillment-on-shopify.

  2. Shopify Flow is a good recommendation, but you need to be on Shopify Plus to use that app. A small % of Shopify store owners have Shopify Plus. Order Automator is an app for everyone that can handle tagging, fulfillment, notifications, fraud checks, etc… order automation type things. (I’m the lead developer of that app, if you need any ideas or feedback on order management / automation feel free to message me).

  3. Almost every store owner I’ve ever worked with is interested in finding ways to automate marketing for new leads / customers. I like your recommendations about automating email marketing and abandoned cart… these are what I’d say are essential for any ecommerce store and easy to set up, but the real challenge is automating the flow of new traffic / customers to your site. Paid ads work well, but for store owners without the budget to hire a professional marketer, super challenging, if you can find some solid and easy to implement tactics to share that can generate new leads and customers, you’ll be providing great value.
