Wineries, breweries, and restaurants need a solution for table management and prepaid reservations for our ecommerce store with a seamless POS integration.
Currently, we find OpenTable has the best offering for this solution. But, its not ideal as their is no integration between Shopify and OpenTable.
Shopify only has one app that compares called Restaurant Table Management, but with a one star rating and support team in a different time zone we can’t rely on their platform.
We need a Shopify integration with OpenTable because are analytics are totally skewed.
For example, we get so many online sessions but Shopify doesn’t process the sales are being made with OpenTable & Stripe integration.
An integration should be made available as Shopify and OpenTable are partners but Shopify is not integrated with OpenTable.
Our conversion rates, sales, and reporting features are becoming useless as the analytics are not accurate.
We would prefer to have all our information on Shopify’s platform since we utilize the POS system and ecommerce features.
I understand other wineries and breweries using Shopify are struggling with this same issue now due to higher restrictions made with COVID.
It’s not ideal for us to utilize OpenTable because they position their brand for restaurants and diners, but we do not market our winery as a restaurant as we don’t offer food.
As more places start to accept prepaid reservations and even meals for restaurants (ex: McDonalds), we need an integration as our analytics become skewed when processing sales.
We are not interested in the headaches of a private app so please don’t pitch anything or reach out to us regarding a solution.
If you’re a developer or Shopify expert, we suggest making an app public that either compares to OpenTable for table management and prepaid experiences.
Or establish an integration that can accommodate for mainly wineries and breweries to handle table assignments and prepayments for tasting flights.
Our team has been in contact with Shopify and OpenTable account management to request this integration, but we are most likely a long time away from seeing this happen.
