How do I add an instagram/facebook icon to the top of my home page

Hi everyone,

I would like to add the instagram/facebook icon to the top right hand side of the page so it will be easier for the customer to find. I am currently using the Dawn shopify free theme. I have asked shopify contact support who has said it would require ‘extensive code customization to achieve this’ as the dawn shopify theme doesnt have this option. Is anyone able to help me with this?

Please follow the steps, it will display fine:

• Step 1: Upload icon in Assets. https://i.imgur.com/pdYvSId.png

Ex: with instagram is ‘instagram.png’

• Step 2: Go to sections > header.liquid file, find ‘header__icons’ and add code here: https://i.imgur.com/6j1dhIc.png
