So this is what I know. That being a beginner level Shopify Developer involves having proficient knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid.
What I don’t understand is this. Let’s say someone went to either a four year college studying computer science or went to a bootcamp. After they graduated they now hold the skills to start applying to most software engineer jobs, but Liquid is not taught in either of these educational systems.
That being said, does being a Shopify developer revolve around being self taught using online courses after one gradates college or a bootcamp?
I have a friend who got a job as a Shopify developer a month out of a bootcamp with only HTML, CSS, and JS knowledge (no liquid whatsoever). I still have not had any luck with getting a position as a Shopify Developer (i study liquid on the side) and am hoping break my way into the industry.
Does anyone know of any in person, remote liquid classes, or any continuously updated online courses? Any other advice would be helpful as well.
(Also, I looked into the Shopify academy/certification and it looks like its only for merchants and has nothing to do with learning Liquid.)
